I visted Myanmar in September 2013 and just meet Yan Linaung near the monastery in central Mandalay. We just started to chat and he told me a bit about his life and his future plans and dreams.
We had a nice talk on the afternoon and after that, he decided to take me and my friends to his village next day, where we had a great day. He organized the transport, the lunch at his family and the visit to the village. All in all, it was a great authentic expirience.
Yan will start to study soon to become a turist guide, but he can already talk english well and take you to the local restaurants and beer stations, besides the village experience.
Therefore, I decided to put up this blog to help Yan to meet other tourists wishing to have a guide in Mandalay or to go on a tour to his village.
